Greetings True Belivers!
Things may have appeared to be quiet for Split on these pages since Computerclub's awesome debut 7" 'Snobs'
was released by Split in August, but nothing could really be further from the truth.
computerclub
Anyway, enough of that. This Is The News:
- The Author's debut single 'Taxi' is now available on digital download.
After this the releases will come fast & furiously from a number of new acts and a couple of familiar ones.
We are proud to announce that we have signed the following new bands:
White Light Parade:
mySpace profile,
Split profile
What Would Jesus Drive:
mySpace profile
In the coming months we'll be releasing White Light Parade's fantastically hummable punktastic 'Wait For The Weekend' as a
limited edition 7" and enhanced CD including the video for the single.
We'll also be releasing a highly limited edition, individually numbered, one sided 10" EP called 'We Made This' with What Would
Jesus Drive. Yes that's correct - a one sided 10" EP! The reverse side of this release can handily be used as a very dark mirror.
Should you require one.
We'll keep you updated on both these very exciting releases in the coming weeks.
If this wasn't enough Split fans, we wil be releasing a ruddy, bloody amazing Double A side 7" by computerclub as the follow up to
'Snobs'. And what a follow up it is! More details on that soon ...
And finally [for the time being as we are hiding another couple of new bands up our large, magical, musical wizard's sleeve] in
February '08 we will be releasing a lovely new Goldenboy album 'Underneath The Radio' . And because we like it so much we have
invited the band to fly over from Hollywood for 10 days to play some gigs to celebrate it's release.
Stay tuned.

Split signs Goldenboy
Split have signed Californian 2 piece Goldenboy. Founded around the songwriting talents of the
intensley private Shon Sullivan, Goldenboy's name derives from Elliot Smith's [who appears on
the album] affectionate nickname for Shon. Shon has previously worked with Johnny Marr, Beck,
Matt Sharp & Neil Finn.
Split will be releasing 'Blue Swan Orchestra' in March preceded by a double a side 7":
'Wild Was The Night/ Kittens Of Lust'.
'Blue Swan Orchestra' is the end result of a 2 year run thru the sprinklers, a midnight swim
in the nearby apartment building swimming pool, a trip to the local liquor store and then back
to the eerie quiet of American suburbia to a garage anyone would drive by and never know.

Rosemary signing and debut release
Split have signed Rosemary.
Dartford based indie/punk/folk 3 piece who have toured with the Buff Medways,
Good Books, Larrikin Love & The Long Blondes.
Suburban Kings Rosemary's first single on their own label sold out all 500 copies of the ltd
edition release within a week. XFM playlisted it and just this week NME
have shown their support for the band describing them as 'a perfect balance between modern indie
& 60s pop'. The band are playing In The City in Manchester at the end of the month. Read more
about them in our artists' section ...
Split will be releasing Rosemary's new single Benjamin's Ego on November 27th as a ltd edition 7" with
a run of 500 indivdually numbered, signed, sealed and delivered copies. The last one sold out in a week so
pre-ordering on the Split site is a good idea! If it has sold out before you order your copy, you can buy
the single online from I-Tunes, Napster etc. Small consolation I know!
Split [Max, Simon and Emily Kane] are also off to Manchester for 3 days to In The City to drink the bars dry
and find the best new acts to bring to you in 2007 ...

Watch the Coastline music video
You can now watch the music video to Crosbi's latest single
Coastline.
You'll need the latest Quicktime player
to view the video, which can be found here. Enjoy!
Record Collector, December 2005
From the discordant guitar intro, a surging, unremitting sound pours forth,
pushed by sparse yet pounding drums.
Comparisons with Echo & the Bunnymen have been made, but feel slightly incongruous, when a group revisiting their music
is compared to one rejuvenating it. Here's to the new breed.

Subba-Cultcha Matt Sharp review
Considering that my knowledge of Weezer doesn't go much further than uber-single Buddy Holly,
I had absolutely no idea of what to expect from Matt Sharp. Thankfully, the ex-Weezer bassist
and front man of The Rentals, Sharp's self titled solo album is a quietly gorgeous affair. SC

NME review of 'Just Like Movie Stars'
Ex-geekster pop star with Weezer, ex-punk-rap-electro-rocker with The Rentals,
now Matt Sharp turns to the only genre besides skiffle he hasn't tried - nu-gaze!
Sprinkled with glitch-glitter, it's easily the loveliest record ever made by anyone
involved with 'Buddy Holly'. MB NME

Split Records first release is a hit
Split Records first release, 'Nothing Without Me' by
Mendoza, is currently causing a
bit of a stir in the upfront dance music charts...
It has achieved a very pleasing level of success already in it's
first week charting at #7 in the UK upfront Club Chart top 100 (to
quantify this Chemical Brothers Get Yourself High was a new entry
at #43). It also debuted at #12 in the DMC charts.
